Hire Services

At Kidsafe ACT we run an Infant Restraint Loan Service to provide parents, grandparents and caregivers with capsules for new borns and infants. Over two thousand capsules are hired out each year through our Infant Restraint Loan Service.

Safe and Sound capsules are a high quality single purpose car restraint for new born children and are suitable for infants weighing up to 9kg and 70cm in length. At your appointment a registered Kidsafe officer will fit the capsule to your car free of charge and explain fitting and usage of the capsule. Capsules measurements are 45cms wide and 68cms long. An instruction manual is included with every hire along with any accessories needed to fit the capsule into your car are available at Kidsafe.

Call Kidsafe as early as possible to have your name included on our booking list. This will reserve a capsule for your use and leave the organisation and follow-up to us! We will call you a few weeks before the baby is due to arrange an appointment.

The booking list is deposit and obligation free

Baby capsule hire is usually for 6 months, or until the baby is large enough to progress to a forward facing car seat (8kilos or 70cm). Extensions beyond the initial six month period for smaller babies are provided free of charge.
